Daikon radishes were a full flop -- all went to seed (too hot -- I should have planted them sooner)

Pulled them all, though in retrospect should have left some go to seed for the flowers and to see what the pods are like.

Daikon radishes are bolting; Avignon radishes finished up harvesting more or less

The Avignon were a decent harvest, and were very mild so I was able to have them in salads and even ate one on its own.  I'd grow them again.

The Daikon are almost all bolting.  Pulled one of them and the root was spindly.  The others I've left in place, but pinched the flowering bit to see what happens.  One of the daikon hasn't bolted yet, so maybe that one will produce.

Avignon radish harvest started

First two harvested today.  (Only planted one square.)  Had with hummus -- glad to see these are nice and mild, no detectable spice.

Radishes sown: Avignon and Daikon

Avignon is supposed to be a milder one, so I'll give it a try.

Daikon out of curiosity re: the amendment aspect.

Sowed lettuce (Romaine "Paris Island Cos"), radishes ("Cherry Belle"), and forget-me-nots in north bed

Sprinkled all together throughout this bed south of the buckwheat sowed today.

I hate radishes!  But just for fun, figured why not.

The forget-me-nots are just for fun too.

Sprinkled some pre-soaked alfalfa pellets in the bed here at the same time (not a ton).

Radishes, bleh!

The radishes sown on May 21st are mostly all harvestable now.  I tried one the other day and was promptly reminded why I don't grow, buy, or eat radishes!  So, these will go to my dad.

Carrot bed backfilling

Filled in the gaps from the original carrot/beet sowing.  (Only 3 or 4 beets germinated!  Gah!)

Mostly filled in with new carrots.

On the north end of the bed, filled in with some radishes.  Not sure why, as I never eat radishes and don't really like them!  But they were in my seed collection, so... figured I'd just give it a try.
