Caterpillar went wonky :-(
The black swallowtail caterpillar I was keeping inside went wonky, didn't pupate normally. For one thing, s/he attached to the stick only at tail, i.e. without the waist harness. For another, after 24+ hours of jerking around only a tiny part of the head had changed into pupa thing. Released outside like that. Good luck...

Black swallowtail caterpillar on parsley
A bit smaller than the one I brought in a couple of years ago. Brought in because there are so many wasps/hornets around, would be doomed.

Swallowtail butterfly seen
Saw what I'm pretty sure was a black swallowtail butterfly fluttering around the garden, from one plant to another, staying nowhere longer than a second or two, even the parsley wasn't that interested in.

Black swallowtail
Found a black swallowtail caterpillar on the carrots about a week, week and a half ago. Turned into a chrysalis within two days. Brought inside, turned into a butterfly today. Farewell!
