Wild mini-apples on Cntk!

Wow!  I'm not sure if these would classify as mini-apples or mega-crabapples, but they are adorable and perfect -- no sign of insect issues.  Very edible raw on their own!

Wild apple harvest! BH on Nkpi!

I've gotten a few of the neighbourhood apples, which are nice and big and great -- but I found two ginormous apple trees up on Nkpi!

One tree is along the road -- its apples were mostly green.

The other is on the north edge of the school's park -- its apples were redder and stripey.

All of the apples were awesome!!  Not sour at all.  And even though the skins looked questionable, the insides were fabulous!

Delicious apple sauce!

Neighbourhood apples finally! First yesterday, two today (unlikely to be many more)

Didn't think I'd get any, but yesterday one, and today there were two nice big ones in mostly-good shape.  Not as sweet as last year, but still highly edible!

Neighbourhood apples wormy so far

Collected 2 or 3 so far -- looked wormy from outside, were all rotten inside.  Discarded.  They were on the smaller side compared to last year, so, maybe later in the season...

Neighbourhood apple tree = best apples ever

Whoa!!  Amazing!  Huge, juicy, tasty, and so apple-smelling.  Pretty sure these are the best apples I have ever had!

Wild apple harvest at CM

(Date was approx. August 17th, maybe a few days earlier than that). Most apples had fallen to the ground. Weird, because last year when I went on Sep 21st there were still a lot in the trees. Tons of apples on the ground, though most quite small or quite un-ideal. Brought home a grocery-bag full.

Apples at CM

Peak time for apples at CM!

Many varieties/trees had already fallen to the ground, but many others will still loaded up in the trees.  I took almost exclusively from the trees, rather than the ground.  A lot in really nice shape!

Brought home a big bag, for apple sauce.

Next year, try going a few weeks earlier than this, to try to catch the earlier ones that had already fallen to the ground today.
