DON'T RE-USE SOIL FOR INDOORS STARTS THAT WAS IN OUTDOOR-HARDENING OFF POTS!!! EGGS!!!!

Hoping I dodged a bullet here!  For the seedlings that had been hardening off outside and then flopped, I had been dumping their potting mix into the indoor potting mix mixing bowl to use for upcoming starts.  Then, tonight when I started potting up the sprouted seeds from a few days ago, what I did I see in there but what I'm sure are insect eggs!  They were a few millimeters long and sort of copper-coloured -- like the colour of those orangey long slow insects -- wireworms maybe? -- that I've seen in the yard.

So, immediately I "dumped" that plan and dumped all that bowl into outside garden (I'm not worried about the eggs outside, just don't want some strange insect running ramping inside where there are no predators).

OH NONONONONO!!!!! EGGS ON TOP OF THE TUBEROUSO BEGONIA SOIL!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I happened to notice what looks like hundreds of small white eggs throughout on top of the soil of the tuberous begonia!!!!! WTF!??!?  This has never happened before.  I can only guess that if these are in fact eggs, some critter came in with the bulb when I brought in inside in the fall, and despite being in a paper bag with no water or anything for several months, somehow the critter survived and laid all these eggs!?!?!?   Maybe if there's only one, the eggs won't be viable?  Wow, what a mystery.

So I immediately took the pot downstairs and double-bagged it to make sure everything stays inside.  Will see if anything emerges from the "eggs"....   I sure hope these aren't critters because if so, obviously I'll have to toss the whole thing, and TB has been around for quite a few years, has been a nice tradition.

Not seeing sign of any eggs etc. on anything else.... fingers crossed.

~~~~~~  See updated posted Feb 12th:  Doesn't look like they were eggs after all... (fingers crossed)
GA: Caterpillar at top of an corn ear
A plump beige/grey caterpillar was at the top of one of the ears of corn I harvested today.  The rest of the ear was perfectly fine though, so just removed the damaged part and ate the rest.
Stevia harvest a-plenty; grow it only in containers in future bec avoids slug damage; wee green insects
The stevias in containers not only look overall happier than the in-ground ones, they're also free from slug damage which the in-ground ones are suffering from a little bit.
Also, there are itty bitty green insects on some of the leaves.  I'm not worried about the plants, but of course don't want to eat them, so am inspecting the leaves closely when harvesting.
Mystery fly [Aha: lygus] has been hanging around potato/pea/zucchini area
Reminiscent of a minute pirate bug, but definitely different. Has a small white "V" in the middle of the back, and then each side of the "lower back" area has a 3/4 "O" on the side.
Overall colour I'd say is a splotchy/patchy brown.  Two long thin antennae.  End tips of wings are clear.
[Updated on 10 July 2022 to say this is a lygus bug / miridae.  Managed to get a photo of one on a zinnia.  Seems to be quite a few around, as some of the green things I thought were aphids it turns out are probably some young lygus.  Will just let them be and see how things go.]
Tons of stinkbug nymphs (I think) in cucumber flowers! (look like ticks)
Whoa, while going after a cucumber beetle, a ton of small insects knocked out of the flower into my container.  They look tickish in terms of size and shape but I don't they are actually ticks.  They don't seem to have wings, they're just walking around the container.  ~25 of them knocked out of one single flower!
Update:  Posted on an i.d. group and someone suggested stinkbug nymphs.  Seems to fit, so I'll go with that.
Beet leaves have poops and holes, despite being under tulle entire time?
While harvesting three more beets today, I noticed what definitely looks like some kind of poop on the underside of some of the leaves, and there are what look like some chew damage on some of the leaves. The root parts look fine.  The beets have been under cover the entire season, so I have no idea what this could have been.  I couldn't find any actual insects.  Will just give the leaves a good rinse before using them.
Milkweed Assassin Bug? Or Scarlet Plant Bug?
Have seen a few here and there around the yard starting a week or so ago.  Not exactly sure what they are.  I think too small to be Milkweed Assassin Bug.  But, will leave them be.
Aphid? on swiss chard
Not sure what this critter is.  Kind of pale, but moves pretty fast.  Rehomed.
