Freezer is almost empty of last year's meals

Not much left at all!  Just a few jars.  Plus several jars of pesto.

Stevia from last year all gone (except for the two small jars of un-inspected)

Alas!  Used up the last of the aphid-inspected stevia today.  Have been having 1/2 tsp per workday (though used to use only 1/4 tsp) in my tea.  I don't think I can stomach using the un-inspected stuff, so will use the store powdered stevia until I get some of my own this year.

Used up the last carrots from last year's harvest -- as good as new!

Used them in carrot-dill soup.  Had the whole soup in one sitting.  Oops!  But so good.

The carrots were in fantastic shape.  A little bit of leaves growing but hardly any.  The carrots had been in the fridge in a twist-tied bag, mostly in the lower right drawer but then for the last month or two in the unlidded green cripser bin thing on the lower shelf.

Freezer still has a lot of last year's harvest! Will it get wasted?

Re-organized the freezers to be ready for this year's stuff.  My, there is quite a bit of last year's harvest left still!  Several jars of pesto and bolognese, and a few of various other dishes.  Not to mention the two big bags of whole tomatoes that will surely end up in the compost.

Not sure how it will go especially with this year's harvest starting with greens, lots of salads to be had.

Last of last year's beets eaten (great shape); carrots still in fridge

The beets lasted super well in the fridge.  Had the last two today.

There's still a big bag of carrots in the fridge.  They've been slowly starting to sprout, so I'll need to eat them soon.

Used the last of last year's beets -- as mulch

The last 3 of last year's beets still look pretty darn good in the fridge!  But I just couldn't bring myself to eat them.  Now that some of this year's beets are harvestable, I decided to just chop up last year's three and toss them on the garden.

In retrospect, I could have used them for the arborio rice recipe -- which I totally forgot until after I tossed them on the garden.  D'oh!

Used the last of last year's beets (from the fridge)

Wow, these stored amazingly well!  These last of last year's beets looked great after all these months in the fridge.  Made the "Beets with Balsamic Vinegar" recipe.
